ICYMI: Sinclair Used Alabama TV Station to Help Accused Sexual Predator Roy Moore, Smear Journalist

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In his piece in the Baltimore Sun, David Zurawik outlines how Sinclair Broadcast Group has recently used their platforms as a political weapon to support accused sexual predator and Senate candidate Roy Moore.

According to the piece, Sinclair is already a leader in the right-wing echo chamber. This time, Sinclair used its Alabama station, WBMA, to attack the credibility of the Washington Post article that claims Moore sexually assaulted a woman when she was 14 and he was 32. The WBMA TV reporter claimed she talked with “a lot of voters” for the segment, but Zurawik revealed her report includes interviews with only three people.

If the Sinclair-Tribune merger goes through, Sinclair would reach 72% of U.S. households, hampering competition and driving up costs for consumers.
