Senate Must Reject Eugene Scalia For Labor Secretary
Trump Nominee Has Long History Defending Corporate America; Can’t Be Trusted To Look Out For American Workers
WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 27th, 2019) — In reaction to the news that President Trump will officially nominate Eugene Scalia as Secretary of Labor, Allied Progress released the following statement:
“Eugene Scalia has spent his career defending America’s largest corporations in court and in the public square,” said Derek Martin, director of consumer watchdog Allied Progress.” He continued, “This is a guy who wrote that sexual assault in the workplace isn’t necessarily a company problem. The Senate should reject this nominee and demand a Labor Secretary who will look out for all Americans in the workplace, not just the ones that sign the checks.”
