Trump CFPB Director Finds Yet Another Way To Avoid Doing Her Job

Kathy Kraninger Announces She Won’t Defend Constitutionality Of Her Own Job

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to news that the Trump Administration and CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger will no longer defend the constitutionality of the Bureau’s independent director, Allied Progress Director Derek Martin released the following statement:

“After refusing to defend consumers from predatory lenders and debt collectors, Kraninger’s refusal to defend her own agency follows the pattern of not caring enough to do her job. Kraninger may be asking the court to let the President fire her at will, but given her track record of standing down in the face of industry, there’s plenty of cause to fire her, too.”
